“Thoughts and prayers” are not enough to undo the consequences of 400 years of racial, economic and human injustice in America. White Americans, as people of privilege, are all accountable for the pain and anguish finding its ultimate expression in civil unrest following the murder of George Floyd. If we follow the Way of Love commanded by Jesus, we must have the courage of our faith to act to change the culture of fear and racism endemic in our society.
